Custom Bathroom Vanity

The beauty and texture of Antique French Oak, combined with superior craftsmanship and joinery work came together to create this amazing Bathroom Vanity. A completely customised piece, our Client purchased a range of exacting dressed Oak lengths, which we milled at our country Victoria Mill.

The Client’s cabinet maker then set to work, building the vanity, then sealing the cabinet in the very best quality Oak sealing treatments. The vanity was installed, plumbed, and the tiling was then completed. With the hand selected basin added, the vanity was then given a final buff and coating, and this room was ready for handover. Bespoke Bedroom Joinery

A Client came to us with a simple brief; mill and deliver some beautiful lengths of a timber species that would look great as bedroom joinery pieces.

We suggested our cost-efficient Kiln Dried French Oak, they loved it, and we supplied them with numerous set lengths at 190mm x 21mm DAR (dressed all round), rather than our standard T&G flooring finish in random lengths.

The site work was done by a local carpentry specialist, finished in our suggested Loba range of hard wax oils, and then the soft furnishings were added, Voila! A warm, relaxing and homely master bedroom for this inner city Victorian era home. [Read more…]

Professional Office Cairns

French Oak Australasia supplied a professional services office in Cairns with this recently sourced pack of Recycled Blackbutt, which was French Oak Australasia from a former car servicing garage in Toowoomba, Queensland, the first car servicing garage built in that city. Based on the age of the original building, these beams have been seasoning in situ at the garage for over 85 years.

The original beams were 300mm x 300mm in size. The Client requested they be brought back to 200mm x 200mm, and simply dressed with a very small bevelled edge. Underneath the main beams is a clever shadow line, created by a recessed plank made from the leftover materials after reduction in size at the Mill. This offers a cool, dark line of delineation between the floor covering and the first horizontal line of beams.

Bespoke French Oak Doors

This bespoke French Door Set was designed by our Client, with input from the Team at French Oak Australasia, and Mark at Colonial Restorations, and a local ironmonger. It was created from our current parcel of 325 year old Recycled French Oak, sourced from a former granary in southern France. Tempered glass was used to create strength and security, and cleverly discreet insulation to buffer between the glass panels and the steel feature grills. The steel grills were finished in antique black with silver, and include unique pyramid-shaped steel feature pieces.
The French Door Set was framed completely in Recycled French Oak, and delivered as a ready-to-install set. Stained to the Client’s wishes and sealed with hard wax oils, it is a world one-off. For your own one-in-the-world architectural feature project, email us today at [email protected]  .
